The Dubai fiasco can be ended almost to everyone’s satisfaction by restricting port operators to those companies that comply with the same rules that apply to U.S. merchant ship operators; require that port operators be of U.S. citizen ownership and with U.S. crews. And add security clearances for all supervisory personnel. All this is only logical given present security concerns.
The arab countries should not object. They know the uproar that would ensue in the arab street if the U.S. Govt was chosen to run the Dubai port.
